I am going to try something, I am going to write a story and then give 3 options for how it should end. I want all of you to choose which ending will be the best, I will choose the one that has the most votes. Okay, here goes nothin’!
Once a upon a time there was a nobleman named Count Augusto. He was count over the beautiful province of Jugo in the rich land of Hobblestone. This count was rich, grasping, and cruel. But he had an incredible personality that was courteous and seemingly humble. Many an honest traveler had fallen into the hands of this evil man and trustingly believed everything he said. Before he knew it the tables had turned and he was in the dungeon with his moneybags in Augusto’s treasury. No help would come to the unfortunate victim because the evil count surrounded himself with loyal retainers that were bribed to secrecy with stolen gold.
One day the count was sitting in his castle counting some gold that he had just taken from a brave knight who had stopped to spend the night and rest his weary horse. Sir Paul was on his way with an important message to the Duke of Baton to warn him of a fleet of warships were approaching from the rival kingdom of Hotten. The ships were sent from Hotten’s ruler Prince Nettle, who was hoping to take the Duke’s province and his beautiful daughter, the Princess Elise. Now poor Sir Paul was languishing in a musty dungeon with chains while the fleet sailed onward towards the unsuspecting Duke.
On seizing the knight and imprisoning him Count Augusto had also snatched the dispatches written to warn the Duke. He read them at his leisure, then contemplated what to do.
“Suppose I offer my services to Prince Nettle in aiding him in his enterprise. Then later I can cut in ahead of him and take the province of Baton and the princess for myself. ” He pondered for a while more, then sent off one of his retainers to the harbor with a message for the Prince.
Watching his retainer ride off he smiled an evil smile, then went on down to interview the outraged Sir Paul.
Now here are the options.
Option:#1 The Prince accepts the Count’s offer and together they advance on Baton.
Option: #2 The Princess Elise has a dream warning her to flee from Baton, on the way she is captured by the Count and is imprisoned near Sir Paul. They communicate and try to escape.
Option: #3 Sir Paul escapes and warns the Duke, only to be caught again by the evil Count Augusto.
Choose carefully, though I think I know which one will be chosen.
P. S. I know how to write great battle scenes, and how to describe a gorgeous princess. Just wanted you to know.
