My Life for the Last WEEK

Well, I have been trying to put several new posts on with pictures, but I am having difficulty, so now I am trying to write something to fill in.

It’s my little sister’s birthday tomorrow. She will be 4. She is so excited!

I have been working on a doll house for her for weeks! I was going to do it out of wood, but we ended up using cardboard boxes instead.

The house looks GREAT!!! After I had finished making it I just sat there staring at it in awe, just thinking, “I have just created a mini world by using things from around the house that we throw away all the time.” For example, I make a table out of a cardboard card holder and a plastic bottle lit, and a paper towel roll thingy.

I made two little kiddie beds out of soap boxes and cardboard. The parent’s bed is a bunch of mini raisin boxes glued together with stuffing on top, and the headboard is a yogurt lid.

The couch in the living room is a Velveta box with the sides cut and folded in. The TV the end of a toothpaste box covered with black fabric.

This truly was a project after my own heart, and I LOVED making it, it is like interior decorating on mini scale. I will put up some pictures of it some other time, after she opens it.

Yeah, we tried to stretch it out in giving it to her today, but she just got so excited that she rushed everything. Finally after I had pulled enough rooms out of mom’s closet that she got the idea, we asked her where the kitchen was, (I hadn’t pulled that one out yet, it was the last) so Gentie just said, “Why don’t you just check the closet for the kitchen?”
