Had another riding lesson yesterday. YUCK!

Usually we do them on Thursdays, but Thursday wasn’t going to work this week, so we had to do Friday. Basically when you get a horse that has been working all week, at the last lesson of the day, and he doesn’t want to obey you, you have the ingredients for trouble!

Chris was sweet inside the barn, except for when he almost went on me, UGH! But then we got outside and he decided that he wanted to trot ALL THE TIME, even when I told him not to. He kept trying to catch up to other horses, and get to close to them. And Miss Emma said that they might fight if we weren’t careful, gulp!

Then when we tried to do a pattern, he completely flipped out, and ran to the opposite side of the arena, and I couldn’t hold him in!

Miss Emma said that now he was to dangerous and that it wasn’t safe for me, so she had me dismount and got on him herself to beat him up a bit.

He was a little better after that, but man, where my legs shaking from squeezing his sides the whole time!

So we got in and cleaned them, took off their tack and so forth. But Chris was so eager to get out into the pasture that he started untying his halter rope himself, he had figured out by now that Miss Emma uses slip knots to tie her horses.

All I can say is OUCH! I feel bow-legged and sore, do you blame me? Me and Lydia are going to trade back and forth between Buddy and Chris now, I WANT BUDDY BACK! He was so sweet and responsive to Lydia when she rode him, and he even trotted for her! So I want my sweet horse back! But I will give Chris another chance, hey, it’s a challenge. Well, or maybe I won’t. x-(
