Greetings from Hawaii! I am the beloved daughter of the Great Hawaiian King Kamehameha. My palace is a beautiful marble building covered all over with bright bird, flower, and animal mosaics.
My room is painted a pale yellow. I have a sea blue bedspread with pearl beaded edging, pearls are always here in Hawaii, my couches are wicker with crimson cushions covered with gold embroidery. My curtains are white with rainbow ribbons. I have vases of every flower in the garden filling my room with perfume.
My wide doors open out onto a wide veranda where I have a bird house, filled with all of my bright friends. They flit to and fro inside of the netting. My favorite is the elepaio bird, he is not very bright, with brown-gray plumage, but he is cute and friendly. I named him Kalani, which means sky.
I myself am tall and have mischievous brown eyes. My hands are rather long, but useful, and I love working with them. My hair is envied by many of the noble’s girls, for it is healthy and thick, filled with waves and curl. I braid in fresh flowers each morning.
I have many beautiful dresses, my favorite one is my sunshine yellow gown. I wear a purple lei over it at the loose neck, by the way, I am a modest princess. My yellow sleeves hang gracefully on my brown skin, and my dark hair looks lovely against the cheerful color. I have two other favorite dresses, one is gold with blue sea stones, and the other is sea blue with white sea stones. But the yellow one is my first favorite.
I am almost the perfect princess, but what am I called?
